What Is Rough Draft?
Rough Draft allows directors to explore the earliest developmental stages of working on a new play, musical or devised project in a one-dayresidency in The Drama League Theater Center.
Rough Draft is a process. It begins with up to eight hours of collaborative exploration of a conceptual approach to a play and is immediately followed by an informal and lively showing of the work done that day, inviting the audience into a conversation as creative partners.
Rough Draft is not a play reading. It's a moment for a director and their collaborators to joyfully dive into the work and make discoveries; then share it with the Drama League community for input and feedback.

Mad Libs Live! based on the classic fill-in-the-blank word game Mad Libs, comes to New World Stages for a limited engagement beginning November 1, 2015.
With a script and songs full of blanks that are hilariously filled in by audience members and an infectious pop score, Mad Libs Live! fully embraces the anything-can-happen spirit of Mad Libs , and is the perfect musical for audiences 7 and up who want to stop being serious and start getting goofy!
In Mad Libs Live! Virtuosa, Gogo, Geyser, and Merrily, four teenagers from Blankville Central High School with little in common, come together to form a singing group to try and win the title, “Teen Superstars!" Mad Libs Live! is set during the live, televised competition when the teens realize that the songs they are about to sing have words missing. Thank goodness these discombobulated kids have The Audience there to help them fill in the blanks!

CURIOUS GEORGE: THE GOLDEN MEATBALL
Join the inquisitive, lovable little monkey Curious George, star of books, movies and the award winning PBS television show in this delightful new musical.

On Meatball Day, George helped his friend Chef Pisghetti cook some delicious meatballs, and serve them to the hungry crowd. But this year, the crowd had vanished! Something was keeping people away. Something pretty big.
And that “something” was Phinneas T. Lightspeed and his speedy Meatballs O’Matic machine. In despair, Chef Pisghetti vows to cook no more.Determined to help his friend, George goes on a mission to enter the Chef’s meatballs in the world-famous Golden Meatball Contest…in Rome.
With every swing and flip, George takes the audience through a fun-filled adventure in which he learns more about Rome...and meatballs...and the “secret ingredient” to cooking!
